The first big shoot will probably be October 4, 11, or 18
Thank you to everyone who has responded so far. We are thrilled with the enthusiasm shown for this project! We have enough extras expressing interest now to make a convincing crowd scene. However, please continue to spread the word, as not everyone will be available for every shoot.
Don't have kids? Wait, there's still plenty you can do! In particular, we could use some set builders right now. There are other needs, too, that we will bring up at a later date.
The first big shoot will probably be October 4, 11, or 18 depending on the weather and the fall colors. The Buckeyes have a bye on the 11th so pray for that date! There will be 6 other shoots that require extras but we haven't even started to build those sets yet. We may or may not get one more set done for this year. The rest will be done in 2015. (Hopefully not 2016)!
October 4th is only 7 weeks from Saturday so we are working feverishly on costumes now. If you can bring your own medieval costume, great. If not, that's no problem but we will need to know your children's name, age and approximate size as soon as possible if you have not already emailed that information.
We will also need everyone to sign a release prior to shooting. You can sign the form on the day of the shoot, but here it is if you want to read it ahead of time:

Most of the extras will have specific things to be doing in the shot but they are really supposed to just blend into the background. However, the October shoot will require a few characters who stand out. One should be an older boy. This actor would also need to be available for another shoot in the future but we can work with your schedule on that. Additionally, the October shoot requires three grown men. None of these are speaking roles but some grunting and pantomiming may be required. Any takers?
Does anyone know of a horse that could be in the movie? It would have to be one that can be ridden by a 90-pound girl. It is needed for the October shoot as well as 4 additional shoots next year. It will need transportation to Millersport and we also need all the tack, preferably English. This is a zero-budget movie but we could provide a stall shoveler or two as payment for your troubles.
Finally, in order for newcomers to catch up on previous communications, we're posting everything to: http://toservethecrown.blogspot.com/ You will find some background information there as well, and we will continue to post updates on the overall project there.
To recap, please mark your calendar, spread the word, let us know about costumes, check out the blog, and keep us in your prayers.
